Upgrade Speakers/HU - least modifications possible
For you experts, I'd like to upgrade my stock sound system in the car. Its impossible to even hear anything on a relaxed cruise. What I'd like is essentially the following, I hope you experts can help me.
Sony DSX-S310BTX (Though the Parrot Asteroid looks good). Not a fan of Alpine/Pioneer/etc HU's as they look extremely aftermarket to my opinion. Must have AUX input.
Upgrade to existing front speakers/tweeters without the need of a amplifier.
Ideally I want to pull the HU out, and put a new HU in. Take the speakers out, and put the speakers back in without having to cut up brackets/trim/etc. I'd also like the option of having the HU drive 2 rear speakers in the future if I decide to go that route.
What speakers are closest to "plug and play" for the s2000?
Thanks in advanced.

Assuming "impossible" isn't hyperbole you really should amp.
This doesn't look any more stock than my CDA-9986 IMO:

To each his own though...

"They look extremely aftermarket." What? That Sony appears as aftermarket as nearly every aftermarket head unit. If you truly want a head unit that doesn't appear aftermarket, you'll want to look into McIntosh though I doubt you would want to pay for such a unit.
In regard to speakers, Polk DB 6501 components can be made to fit the stock speaker basket. For an even simpler installation, you can drop in a set of DB651 coaxials.

The polks you are talking about are the best drop ins? Never done it before, i'm guessing I just take out old speakers, put new ones in and splice into existing wires?
As for HU, Sony's do look aftermarket. I guess what I mean was I like the overall aesthetics with the Sony Players. Anybody know how those USB only AUX inputs work with the iphone? Can I simply control the music through the phone or do I have to use the sony interface on the HU?

If I were you, I would pick up the Polk DB651 coaxials. They are a pretty good bang for your buck speaker and will be simpler to install than a component setup. When/If you are prepared to add an amplifier, I would then recommend you look into component speakers such as the 6501s I recommended earlier.

It's ok. I mean, it looks great. But to navigate through radio stations and mp3 folders is kind of a pain while driving. Every thing is controlled through the knob and it takes some getting used to. If I could do it all over, I'd choose something with more buttons.
