So can you control the ipod with the Modifry Dci? I really like this setup. And the radio door closes without hitting the big knob?

Thanks,
Dave
The Dci changes tracks forward and back (like the stock) and volume. The knob is not an issue, because when not in use, it pushes and locks flush with the radio.

Cool, thanks for the info. What door speakers are you running? This head unit might be my first upgrade and will be hooked up to my stock speakers for a while.

Ehhh...heres the pickle.....I am using my old DCI...however what I did was this...

Alpine, for some reason or another decided they are going to change one thing on the harness. Its exactly the same size, but the pins are squares now, instead of round. Naturally, it wont fit.

What I did was cut the harness of my old headunit and connect it to the new one. This way, the DCi doesnt get touched. Its only like 5 wires, so its no big deal. It was a minor annoyance, but well worth it. If you had a loaded up IPOD, this is the only way to go IMHO.

I took the harness from the 9813 and swapped it right out but the DCI isn't working...is it different? It worked otherwise though swapping the harness (sound is all good).

Well, I went out and got the 9856 today along with the ipod cable. I was thinking of holding off on the DCI for now, but I'm thinking that it might be easier to get the DCI and connect everything while I have the dash apart.

Thanks for the info.

I got the 9856 and ran the ipod cable back under the console and drilled a hole at the top of the glove box near the trunk release button. The cable comes out and is long enough that the ipod can go in the elastic band in the glove box door--it is secure and safely stowed.

I have a question about the Modifry DCI--what do I order and is there a trick to connecting it? The last couple of posts have me confused.
