For all that we care about in the s2000, yes. I think it might have another trinket or two, but nothing of note IMHO. You cant go wrong with the price of the 56.

can i use the newer style DCI with this? IE the stereo plug one? Also, do the buttons change colors like the 9831?

Allen, no the buttons dont change color (I wish they did, I wanted amber) and I dont know about the new DCi. I know mine works (older IR style), but dont have experiences with new ones. I believe the new ones are made for headunits with wired remotes, which this headunit doesnt have.

The 9856 requires an IR DCI. There is no hardwired connection for a remote.
The 9857 is supposed to have a hardwired connection, but I haven't seen any confirmation yet.
