Default V1 Laser detector and brake lights...

Ok, so this happened to me twice last weekend. I ended up right behind a new model chevy trailblazer at a couple of stoplights. Everytime he hit his brakes, it would set off the laser detector on my V1. Anyone know why? I'm next to positive that this is what it was as it happened on two separate occassions. Just curious. Thanks!

My V1 has given laser alerts because of led brakelights a couple of times. Red neon also triggers it.

Yep, this is actually documented somewhere on the V1 website. Annoying isn't it?! I sometimes deliberately avoid those damn SUVs specifically b/c of this.

From the Valentine One Website....

Laser False Alarms

1) Red neon, from stores and occasionally from brake lights of other cars immediately ahead, can imitate the characteristics of speed laser. Solution: Move away from source.

2)The electrical systems of some cars generate electromagnetic interferences, triggering laser alerts. How to test: Try V1 in a different car.
Possible solution: Try relocating detector within the interfering car; also, your dealer may have a factory fix.

From what I understand, laser is not often used for several reasons. I don't think any law enforcement agency in my area is actively using laser. If you want, you can actually turn the laser detection OFF on your V1. Here's how....

So if you turn feature character #4 off, it will disable laser detection!

Thanks for the input guys. I don't want to turn off the laser because I think they use it around here sometimes. Regardless, this is the first time its happened so it isn't that much of a bother.
