Ok guys I have an 06 and I want to upgrade all my speakers but keep the stock headunit. What would you guys suggest as far as brands and what nots. I just want to geat more clear sound and a bit more bass. I don't want to add a sub just upgrade my speakers. So can you guys link me to some suggestions or give me some model numbers and what not. Thanks!

I too have an 06(leased so I don't want to change the head unit). I replaced the stock units with Polk DB6500's. I am quite happy. They are extremely crisp and have decent bass. You will only get so much out of a 6.5" but these seem like a good improvment. You could also replace the headrest speakers with 1" tweeters, but I left mine alone. Without an amp, you probably won't hear them anymore as the Polks are super efficient. I got mine off Ebay for about $100 delivered. I also recommend adding an aux-input($80 from enfig.com) for your MP3 player(if you have one). You will love not needing CD's any more.

You should check out the electronics forum. I think the headunit will be the weakest point though once you upgrade your speakers.

The OEM speakers are not the weak point. The HU is. There is no reason to keep the OEM HU. I'd rather have a new HU and stock speakers than new speakers and the stock HU.

I have a buy not a lease so that doesn't concern me. And I thought about the headunit but if I change the head unit I loose the controls on the left correct?

Basically I guess Im on the lookout for a headunit I can use my side controls with. One that I don't need to do crazy wiring for. So if anybody can point me in the right direction I would apreciate it. And I perfer Alpine if that helps =)

Do a search for "DCI" or "Modifry DCI". Or go to modifry.com.
