Default Weak reception with Sirius/Alpine CDA-9853 HU

I had a Sirius brain put in last year (Alpine CDA-9853 HU). It has pre-sets which work (worked) with Sirius channels. Recentlly, a couple of months ago, I see the "Antenna" message scrolling across the Alpine screen and the with that message, the pre-sets no longer work. The signal drops more that my other Sirius radio in my other car. I added the DCI control to make my dash contols work again but I'm not sure if the issue is related. I guess I could take out the DCI and see if the problem goes away.
Are there any other Sirius listeners that have experienced the same issue?

dealing with this problem daily at work with xm and sirius this problem is easy to fix. If your getting a scroll that says antena more then likly the antena is done , or pinched... Look at the antena and make sure there isn't any werid bends or pinches or knots, worst yet check to see if the wire is stripped in any way shape or form. Now check the antena it's self pick up the bottom and see if theres any rust. Any of these things mean new antena. Now if it says signal not detected then you need to relocate your antena , or your under a bridge :-)
