What is it called!?!?
Hey guys,
Currently I have a Cobra radar nothing fancy, but I was watching a video "Gumball 3000, with the yellow BMW" (if you've seen it this will make it easier) but not only did a radar go off, and beep, but he had a device connected up to the car visor that picked up the cops radios, and he could hear them talking. If you know what this is called, and where I could get one I'd greatly appericate it.
Thanks guys,
Nick

You mean a police band scanner? May be difficult to get one that pulls in police band directly these days, but you can often buy a normal scanner off the shelf and hack it with a resistor or two to get what you need.
Uniden still makes quite a few : http://www.uniden.com/product.cfm?product=BCT8. According to their site, the BCT8 has some nice features to it that fit right in line with what you are asking about :
Frequency Coverage (BCT8) - Includes the most interesting "action" bands where you can hear police, ambulance, fire, amateur radio, public utilities, weather, and more. 25-54,108-174,400-512,806-956 (excluding cellular)
