What else do I need?

(Alpine Type R Components) & (Pioneer CD-IB100II)
I have this head unit on order http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?sk...d=1158321454732 (Pioneer DEH-P9800BT).
Anyway I went to bestbuy and I felt like the guy was just trying to upsale me (I even work there). My question is what else do I need? With these speakers am I going to need to get an external amp? if so what wattage and brand should I go with? Also to make things a little more confusing I MAY be adding a sub later. If I do should I just purchase a single channel amp for my sub once I get one? Last but not least the guy was telling me I need all sorts of harnesses and racks (or something don't remember what he was calling it) to mount my head unit.
When I go back soon to get everything else I need, what should I ask for? Thanks guys, I just don't want to get screwed hes always telling me all this junk I need, service plans.. all that junk... I fell hes just tring to make a good sale off me. Please help me out!
once again so far all I have is Headunit, Speakers, iPod Adapter (do I even need it? he was not sure he said there was some other cable that connected directly, I told him I think I needed it since I have the older iPod mini) Thanks again guys!
the head unit will bolt right in but you will need a wiring harness to connect it, unless you want to hack into your factory wiring. I would reccomend an amp... those speakers do not have a very high sensitivity rating and they are built to handle 110 watts rms... I would either reccomend a good four channel, so you can use the two rear channels for a sub later on, or just a two channel--and pre-wire for a 2nd amp that you may add later on for a sub. Just depends on if you want two amps in an already small trunk.
^ okay thanks you guys. now If i decided to MAYBE get 1 sub, will i only need one amp? or are you saying the 2 can bridge or something for a powerful sub.
Yes i plan on adding the DCI wow thanks for the advice, i was about to buy their harness and thing to mount the head unit. thanks! Also one last question i was reading a the sticky on stereo installs an saw that darkknight was using very very expensive cables (I would be spending way more in cables then my whole system). For this basic setup what would I need cable wise? Am i still gong to have to have a direct connection from the battery, RCA cables, all that good stuff? I cant really visualize it right now as some of my things are on order and still coming in so sorry for the stupid questions. thanks guys

edit: Also just now looking at modifrys website, i would need the wired DCI since im pretty sure it has a wired remote, is this all i need? I only see "Add a Adapter Harness" "New ALPINE Plug-n-Play Harness" Now im guessing thats what I dont need, So does the the DCI come with all the harnesses needed for my pioneer? thanks again!

I would get a 4-channel amp and amp the doors at the same time. You do not want the sub overpowering the main stage. A decent 4-CH amp can be had (when on sale) for almost as cheap as a class D, and you get better sound to boot.

to answer your other question, you'll need the "add an adapter harness"
option, but not the "Alpine Plug'n'Play" harness as of course you're not
using an Alpine headunit. When the harness adapter comes, you'll need
to attach it to the Pioneer one which will come with your headunit. As for
RCA's and other wiring, you don't need those until you add an amp,
though you may need a small amount of speaker wire to run to and from
the crossovers, and you'll probably want to pick up these:

(should be available at BB/CC too).
If/when you add an amp, you'll probably want to run entirely new speaker
wire as the factory stuff is quite small.

thank you guys! would you recommend for me getting an amp for these speakers? also do you think it would be best to get a 2 channel amp for now then a 1 channel or something for a sub later on IF i want a sub. I want something really small to fit under or behind the seat since I want to keep my trunk space.

okay so iv been waiting for my DCI and in the mean time went down to bestbuy to take a look at their amps. One of their employees showed me a rockford fosgate amp and told me it would be the best one. Now I am running 2 alpine type R's rated at 110 watts RMS and 330 Max. What kinda wattage amp should i be looking at? something above the RMS and MAX or something exact?? thanks guys! Also if i should get a different brand amp please let me know, they had pioneer i believe, sony... i dont know couple different ones. Thanks again
