this only works w/ UK head units... as best i know, there are no USA HU's that will work w/ this.

i think Lucid used to sell them though.

??? The radio door does not have to be open for the DCI to work. The IR eye is only about 3/32 of an inch wide. It pokes out neatly from below my HU. Hope that helps some. I believe PJK has a pic somewhere that shows it.

here's the pic. this is before i used a black sharpie to darken the IR transmitter... now, you can barely see it. and it works perfectly, both with the door closed and w/ the door open in full sunlight. edit: just in case you don't see it, it is the white blip above and to the right of the volume knob on the HU. the flash also accentuates the IR transmitter, as you can also see on the HU's buttons.




and also -- Lucid sold the UK adapter for awhile, but you still had to special order the UK Alpine HU.

 

Oh...and the newest version of the IR emitter from Lucid is black in color.
