Where did you ground the battery?
So I got my amp installed...but I am unsure of where I should add an extra ground to the negative terminal. I cant find a good bolt to attach it to. Anyone care to post a picture of where they terminated the extra ground wire?
A lot depends on exactly where you placed the amp.
My amps are in the trunk. If you go to the second post on this page:

you will see where I grounded them. In the first picture of the post you can see two ground points where the black cables terminate. In one case I used an existing screw that I determined was in contact with bare metal. In the other case I picked a spot surrounding a hole in the body work, sanded away all the paint and then used a screw and washer to secure the ground cable.
This is just an example. The best ground point for you will depend on where your amp is mounted.

why two ground points????
It is either a good or a bad ground
Are you getting any noises in the system? Another way to to determine if you have a good chasis ground is to measure the resistance between your ground point and the negative terminal of the battery. If it is less than 0.4 Ohm, I'd leave it alone
Two ground points with different resistances to the battery would actually give you problems

I'm in the process of redoing my system after adding a third amplifier. For the redo I'm planning a single ground point for all three amps.
