Red face Where to hardwire the Valentine 1?

I'm going to be putting the V1 RIGHT next to the wind screen and I just wanted to know where to hardwire/tap a line in for some 12V power. The cig light in the center LOOKS nice but to get to all that (reading the HELMS manual) you have to remove all these interior trim. I'm thinking there MUST be a better way...

Thanks guys!

You dont need to take ANYTHING off except the left a pillar (its about 1.5 feet long, and snaps right off. After that...leave a flashlight on the bottom, and if you look through the dash, youll see the light. Just feed the wire down, connect it, put the pillar back, and have a beer!

he wants to mount it on the windscreen - not the windshield you could drill a small hole in the bottom of the secret compartment and tap into the trunk light or run the wire to your fuse box - total pannels removed for this is four (rear pannel behind your seat, door sill, pannel in frt of the fuse box and the pannel behind your left shoulder)

IMHO i still think the best place to put it is on your sun visor....it cant be seen

very easy......but then again with the top down.....oh well........mine works fine

there.

Thanks everyone. I'll post some pictures of my setup. I got it done yesterday. Pretty clean and easy. I have a hardtop so I dont really need the windscreen (i rarely take off the HT because its a PITA). I think I might try and fabricate something in place of the windscreen to conceal the V1 so ppl wont jack it.

i really liked my v1 on the visor for the reasons mentioned above plus no dangling wires but i had a constant rattle that i could not eliminate after months of trying. moved the v1 to the windshield with the standard suction cup mount. not aesthetically pleasing but no damn rattle!
