This was the problem the last time this came up. The EJs are just too far apart to make this feasible.

I have never been to the Dragon, but my understanding of the event is that WTD has a lot of "free time" for people to do whatever they want. I know there will be quite a few junkies there, so perhaps we could take a couple of hours either Friday night or sometime Saturday to seek each other out and spend some time talking about turning electrons into permanent hearing loss.

If a separate EJ meet were heald in VA Beach, or MA, or really just about anywhere on the East cost line I doubt I would go. Is that any great loss? Not really, but I suspect there are more people who live more than 5 hours away from the Atlantic coast, than people who live within 5 hours of the Atlantic coast.

Ohio, Kentucky, the Western end of West Virgina. These might be a little bit more of a draw.

yeah, Pete - i think you're all too correct on this one.

and the Dragon event i've attended did have a ton of time to spare. i'm more than willing to make another Dragon event. perhaps the best option would to make an especially hard push to have as many EJ's as possible at one traditional event... then (like on Friday night) meet in one area, and dine at the same location.

I got that whole broken clock thing working for me here then. There's a first time for everything I guess.

Of course everyone will want it close to their backyard. ..that being said Philly is nicely located on the Eastern seaboard....close to the beach..and nice state parks are available for rent. I vote for Philly

Seriously I hope to make this event wherever it is! But as others stated geographically we are all very spread out...its going to be tough to find a good spot.

This is the problem. No one wants to sound like a d!ck, but no one wants to drive 20 hours. This is why I suggested we set a border. It will be EXTREMLY hard to make a meet hapen if we go from Main to Florida, and out to Missouri. One we set a boundary, then you will be able to choose a location easily. Like John said, I probably wont make it if the drive is more than 10-12 hours (non-stop). We are all a welcoming group, but this is a heck of a meet to pull off.

So how about a tally of who is seriously thinking of attending by zipcode and go from there?

I also think that as others have mentioned ..this may be much more accessible/easier to pull off if we piggyback this with one of the major events. Fall Colors, WTD, etc . We would probably have better attendance if we do can this.

We should have a northeast one and a southern one and then merge all the pictures into one thread.

That's my vote anyway.

Thats the reason why I said no more than 5 hours for the drive, I was under the impression that this was a northeast meet. I would love to meet all my fellow junkies from the southern lands but is it feasible? I figure maybe next year, we can have a NON-s2000 full country Ej meet in Vegas or something, but this is too much for the entire right half of the US.

Remember, 12+ drive means you need about 4 actual days dedicated to this. Drive there, drive back, and 2 days of hang out time. How many people will dedicate 4 days to this?
