Remember, 12+ drive means you need about 4 actual days dedicated to this. Drive there, drive back, and 2 days of hang out time. How many people will dedicate 4 days to this?
Hence the suggestion to piggy-back on another meet.

yup. and that's why we only really make a couple long distance meets a year. it's a lot of mileage on the car (which in my case is already high), lots of time, used vacation from work, $$$$ for gas and hotels, and you get home exhausted.

still -- i look forward to those meets.

i'll drive 15+, but much more than that and it's going to be tough. it'll become a 5-6 day event, as you'll have to split the drive up across 2 days.

piggy-backing on another meet really is the way to go. heck, if it were a meet i could make and attend - i'd even pay for the big vinyl sign that says "The Electronics Junkies are here!"

So how about a tally of who is seriously thinking of attending by zipcode and go from there?
You can make a frappr for this so everyone has a pinpoint on a map:

Depending on when, and where, I'd be interested. I'm sure we could get some of the ATL folks to show up too.

I've not met any of the folks from FL, but from what I've seen on here a few of them would probably drive up too.

I'm guessing NC would be closest to the middle?
