Default Whine in audio system

I have a whine in my system that increases when I give it gas. the only place I crossed audio and power wires is on the drivers side (audio wire is 12gauge twisted) Anyone have any other ideas of what could be the problem? I ran the audio wires up the passenger side and power up the driver side. Thanks for your help.

Its wiring problem most likely a ground problem...

Click here for a great explanation and possible solutions. I'm going through something similar and plan on using the advise here to problem solve my ground-loop issue.

yup, first thing i'd do is check your grounds. make sure they are tight and correct.

2nd thing to do is disconnect the RCA's from the amp. if the whine goes away, the problem is between the amp and the HU. if the problem stays, it's an amp issue. again, check the ground.

hey guys, thanks for the advice...I noticed my ground was crossing a couple audio wires in the back so I moved it and the whine is very faint now(enough so I can stand it) thanks for the help. Brian

very faint is still whine...

you might have other issues. if moving it helped that much, i'd double check that the grounds are good and tight.
