Who would be interested in a sub setup that...
Definitely still interested, especially if it looks OEM. Just put another option out there as a possible second tier version. Just tossing idea's about. Might as well expand your customer base without any extra time in R&D.
John - For that volume, isnt the styrofoam tool holder kit in the toolwell about that volume? Could might be able to resin it over and use it as a template (but I dont think styrofoam takes kindly to the heat put off by the fiberglass hardener). Just another idea...

I'd be interested, pending how it actually turns out of course (from sonic, visual, and utilitarian points of view). I should probably add that I'm also looking at an Alpine PDX 4-150 amp to power my upgraded fronts (undecided on speakers at this point), and adding S-Pods for some fill.
John,
Any updates on this? I have been trying to design this exact same type of thing myself for a while now. I need my trunk space back for trips, and removing the weight would be nice for track days. You have my attention and I can't wait to see pictures of your prototype.
As another option, I had considered using all the wasted space under the softtop (after removing spare tire) for permanent mounting of sub, amp(s), etc. If you have any ideas in that vein, please let me know.

The point of this is to not have a box that requires a lot of space... hence the .2-.3 cubic foot box spec's. If I wanted to use a .5 box I'd just keep making the boxes I already sell. The point of this is to have the sub and the amp in the toolwell. But thanks for your input.
I could use Zapco. I'm a Zapco dealer.

You might also see whether it's possible to design in a flexible mounting arrangement (masonite?) that would enable, for instance, mounting outboard crossovers and the like in that area (or support different amp options, etc.).
Looking forward to what you come up with!
