Default Will Adding 3 way 6.5's in the doors help my mid range?

Hey Gang,

Ok just like the topic says will 3 way speakers give me more mids than my current set up.

Sony Head unit Mp 850
Infinity reference 6.5's in the doors
Infinity reference 5.25's in the rear panels
JL Audio W3 12 inch sub in a stealth box enclosure.

I am running the fronts and rears off of the head unit and the sub is being pushed by a Planet audio 400 watt amp. The bass is great in the car and the highs are way too bright. I f I just ran 3way speakers off of the head unit will this fill in the lack of mids? I am trying to avoid compnents and installing an amp to push them. Tell me what you think. Thanks

I'm having the same issue myself, mids are just kind of muffled, even though I've turned down my tweeters. I'm contemplating 3 ways with the mid in a kick panel myself.

I am going to try to put 2 pairs of 5.25" split in the stock location and a stronger amp to bring up the mid when my car is back on the road. It's frustrating with lack of mid range

I have been through this. First thing, if you can afford it, you need an amplifier. Next you need to seal up the doors really well. Then you need to get the best speakers you can afford. I've heard good 2 ways and 3 ways in the S2000 in sealed doors. 3 ways are better, but hard to fit in the car. 2 ways are good. Sealing up the doors and having good, clean power is key.
