will this start a fire?
so i got my order in today (HU, speakers, 10g wire kit to amp the speakers, and 8 inch 70w rms powered sub.)
the sub came with its own wiring harness, which is basically like a HU harness, just with longer wires. it has its own specific plug that connects it to the amp. the power wire in this harness is only about 10 feet long, and im not sure that will reach from the battery to behind the drivers seat. after seeing that, i intended on connecting the power wire for the sub, to the power terminal on the amp for the speakers.
i called crutchfield.com's support, and they guy i talked to was a retard, so im getting a second opinion.
will what i have planned cause any problems with any of my equipment or create any fire hazards?
if possible, PM me your response or at least to let me know you posted a reply as i plan to install this tomorrow and would like to get some suggestions. thanks!

best would be to get a distribution block like this:
http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDe...prodID=BC-1428
power wire from the battery goes to the block, then one wire goes
to your amp, and one to the powered sub.
this also allows you to separately fuse each wire off the block, which is
important because the powered sub likely has a smaller wire than your
wire from the battery, so it needs a smaller fuse (it may be that there's
already a fuse in the wire leading to the sub).
