Default Will a stock S2000 head unit in a CRX?

I've been thinking about finding a cheap stock 2000 head unit to put in my 91 CRXsi. Does anybody know if it will fit before I spend the money?

It probably would... but why? No offense to anyone with the stock stereo but it's not exactly great quality. Do yourself a favor and instead of buying a stock s2k radio, spend $150 on a cheap aftermarket stereo... It'll sound much better! You can even get an MP3 player for under $200 now!

I've been installing car stereo now professionally for close to 14 years, and the few things I can tell you are this. The stereo will fit in the opening in the dash but the wiring harness will be different. Also, the way the radio is bolted in will either not be the same or be non-existent. You might have to get a little creative. I recently put an '00 Civic Si cd player in a '91 Accord with wiring harness adapters from Metra and some trusty 3M double-sided tape. Worked great and the car will probably see the crusher before that stereo comes out. Any assistance I can be, please let me know.

The harnesses WON'T match, I wouldn't lie to you. You'll need a Metra 71-1721 male harness to go into the stock stereo and a Metra 70-1720 female harness to adapt the car's wiring. Match up the colors, wire it up, and plug 'n' play!

Great info, thanks guys. PJK3, I'll have to miss the next meet since I've got an autoX to put on in P'cola that weekend -- but we'll talk for sure.
