The bluetooth is stable. i also have a hardwire option if i want (comes off the back of the unit and a wire is coming from under the passenger airbag area). haven’t tried the hardwire option yet.
Even if Carplay fully dies, I’ll still enjoy the head unit for bluetooth but i’ll be pretty bummed.
it’s SO nice to not have my phone out or any wires showing when i’m navigating.
Hopefully it's not going to be a recurring issue because that would be disappointing since that's a highlight feature of the product. I'm on Android so I guess I won't have to worry about car play. I would even be ok if they had wired android auto but as long as Bluetooth is stable I'd be happy. It's more than what I have now
UPDATE: CarPlay has intermittently stopped working. Now, sometimes I need to power off the unit for CarPlay to start working again it has only happened about three times in the last couple days, but I’m not thrilled.
Hello, how is this problem? Fixxed?
Regarding the audio control buttons we need Modifry cables?
Picked up one of these myself. Super clean looking, love the updated tech (touchscreen, integrated mic, CarPlay, etc) coming from the dingy early 2000s aftermarket HU I had in mine before. I did notice on a longer trip (heat maybe? Or wiring related..) that the car play would stop working and switch to the radio for a second or two and then go back to CarPlay. It didn’t feel like CarPlay disconnected from the phone but rather like it was switching inputs on its own, because the CarPlay came back instantly (like it wasn’t searching to connect to a phone again if that makes sense).
Again, I only noticed this on an hour drive I did this past weekend. Putzing around town I haven’t had it do that. I’m not sure if it’s heat related or something in the wiring. I did electrical tape the unused wires all together (they were unexposed/not stripped wires) so maybe some interference there? Wires somehow touching?…I’m curious if I wrap the unexposed wires individually if that would make a difference, might try that. If it persists I’m going to return it.

That's interesting. Yeah sounds more like an interference or glitch. Hopefully it gets ironed out. Are you using the Modifry harness?

Thanks
You can use the Modifry one but looks like others have used the ones they sell at Walmart too and other audio shops used what they got and looks like most say it works but some say the mute doesn't work depending on the cables and harness that the shop uses

Hey did it help to individually wrap wires? Got any pics of it? I had mine professionally installed, but maybe I can just take the head unit out and make some little fixes on my own.
I installed mine today, I had a USB thumb drive with .mp3s, but the PA deck is really picky on either format or size.. I had a 128GB drive formatted to exfat, and it wouldn't read it. I put in a 16GB fat32 drive, and it worked, but it's kinda small..
Huh, so unfortunately this deck appears to be not only far from perfection but not even competent. I do wish a real car audio manufacturer had something similar.
