Based on my research is a Modifry DCI module the only option to get all the steering wheel controls working?

It seems most have used this one and mute is the only missing function. I'm curious why no other harness can get mute working too.

the way the mute works is different than the rest of the functions. the buttons are a resistance to ground. the mute is a latching 12v. the modifry adapter was purpose built for the car. the axxess and other modules are generic " translators" of resistance and canbus and dont ever wanna work with that latching 12v.

your options are modifry, or replace the entire pcb in the steering module in the dash with a custom one that makes the mute just another momentary resistance based switch.

Thanks for the clarification.

Interesting I just did another quick search and this video shows the mute function working. Maybe there are options outside of Modifry.

My wireless CarPlay just stops working sometimes and it goes the basic home screen of the system.

Doesn’t happen all the time. And the wired usb for CarPlay works so I will just get into a habit of connecting my phone when I get in the car and keeping it in the little netting on the passenger side.

Safer to not touch my phone anyway while driving.

This happens to my wireless CarPlay in the Lexus. This always happened in the same area, it's just some kind of interference. Does not happen when it's connected via cable.

If you use the SWI-RC-1 you need to set configure it like a Kenwood head unit, not a Power Acoustik. I can confirm mute works with the SWI-RC-1. It's quite a nice little unit to be honest. Default it comes loaded with short touch buttons (touch once, and it sends that signal to the head unit). However you can program long touch for additional functionality if you like or you can reconfigure what the dash buttons do all together.

Use the Wal-Mart app, and if it’s sold out (as it was for me at many nearby locations) it might be in stock somewhere.

Hey, this is my first post on this website, I have been thinking of getting Carplay in my ap1 and I was wondering if you needed any conversion kits or wiring harnesses to install this kit?

People have been able to use universal steering wheel kits and wiring to get it to work or you can order/pre-order the old Kenwood harness/power acoustik harness from modifry as well for a plug and play install

For the people looking to have functioning dash controls PAC SWI-RC1 work perfectly! luckily i had spare connector and depinned two male terminals and pin them to 3 and 14 on the connector (universal honda radio connector) going to dash harness. you also could just tap the dash harness if you don't have extra terminals. you need to set the dip switch to Kenwood and you're good to go. found it to be more responsive than modifry and is currently on sale on amazon. i found all the info on S2k talk & tech on facebook per user Jst T Que just reference that post for your install

for those with intermittent wireless CarPlay issue i found resetting your network settings on your phone seems to help but unfortunately my iPhone 11 pro still drops from time to time but far less maybe a few time during the 1 hour drive cycle. i came to the conclusion it's a phone issue due to my iphone 11 being pretty old with the latest iOS. verified with my friends iPhone 15 pro that his wireless connection is very stable and a lot faster.

emailed PA tech to see if there is a firmware update or if they came across any similar problems at this point id probably upgrade my iphone and report back
