Would S-Pods compliment my system?
Yeah, I think they are the exact same ones. I don't have the old box, but they are definitely related. BTW, they aren't nearly as good as the perfects. But I use the rears strictly for fill, So I'm not going overbaord with them. Like you, they will be powered by the HU.
I'm saving my money and investing it in the FRONT speakers and Amp combo. IMO The Fronts are the ones that matter the most.

According to the general specs...they look like a good fit. However, the link provided doesn't have a technical diagram which would better tell if they will fit perfectly. Best I can say is they look OK.

Theres Infinitys page on them, you can download the owners manual. Let me know what you find out.
Thanks.

yes, these are definitely not the best components on the market... but for their ~$140 street price, they are a great bang for the buck in my opinion. also, they are known to be quite efficient, so they work well w/ HU power.
also, i should point out here that these are silk dome tweeters -- they will not be as bright or as accurate as the Kappas... but they really do voice well and have a decent overall sound. which is really what you're wanting when you look at rear speakers.

well, you have to put a ceiling somewhere... are there better speakers out there? sure. i could show you all kinds of options...
but, for a rear fill non-dominant speaker, that's right behind your head, and that can run on HU power, PLUS for a good reasonable price?
no, i don't know that there are any/many speakers out there that would be better.
my suggestion -- go listen to them at a CC or somewhere and see what you think.

SS2K:
Put that extra cash to the speakers up front!
Listen, you're running the rears off you Head Unit, right? There's not a heck'va lot of power there. I don't care if you HU says it is rated at 50 watts. That just means one of those tiny little amps at one time peaked at 50 watts before it blew up. So if you're gonna spend money on the rears you're gonna need an amp for them.
IMO that's a waste of money: and I'll tell you why:
Have you ever been to a concert? Well that's the listening environment your sound system is based on. The bulk of the sound is coming from two channels up front. This is your front sound stage. Most, if not all, of the imaging takes place here. (Imagine Led Zeppelin where the sound goes from your left channel to your right.) The sound bounces off the rear wall of that concert hall making for a fuller sound. That is the role of our rears, to emulate the sound bouncing off that rear wall. In a car we don't have a rear wall so we use filler speakers. If your system is balanced correctly you should not distinctly hear your rears. However if you turn them off, your system would lose that "full sound." It is not the job of the rears to give you the music experience, that is left up to the fronts. Your rears are filler.
