Default XM HELP!

Will the reciever from the old XM units work with my '05 HU? My GF has one and it didn't dawn on me til today. Anyone know if they are the same recievers as the OEM ones for the S2000?

Heres a link to the one i am talking about.....XM Reciever

how would you connect it to the oem head unit other than by adding a fm mod??

furthermore i don't think you could use the dash controls

Couldn't you plug the reciever to the HU instead of the XM display?

if it has the 16-pin connector that matches up to the 05, yes. Otherwise, umm, probably not, unless it is an FM mod unit, and then you use the extra display thingie.

(BTW just installed the OEM XM tuner box in my '05 (thanks Bass) using a micro antenna and splitter, works and looks awesome.)

hey i was first... nananana.... but if MulderATO doesn't mind a little display unit like on that old accord xm setup, i would be happy to hook him up with a very sweet deal on a new commander......

yeah, they sell extensions.... nothing QUITE fits in exactly to the OEM plugs, but I've made do on standard two-lead wires with the OEM setup so a standard two lead extension should work for you (with some tape)

the best place to get stuff like this is ziggy at myradiostore.com. it looks like the 2-lead extensions are discontinued, but maybe two of the single leads would work for you? i think the plugs are the same.... you may want to give ziggy a call or an email, if anyone knows...
