I'm a noob when it comes to ecu tuning, so forgive me for asking this question.

So my question is what specific engine management computer(s) model will work on an 04 ap2? I want to retain my obd2 function.
to retain obd2 compliance you will have to get Hondata for the s2k and swap all the necessary parts. I had AEM EMS and it wasn't the most user friendly, when i go back to forced induction i'll be swapping everything to run Hondata
The Aem is extremely user friendly if the user knows what the hell they are doing .

Agreed. I've run the AEM and Hondata. I prefer the AEM any day. I'm only currently running Hondata to make passing emissions a bit easier.

Soooo much info on this thread it's almost harder now to make a decision between hondata and ems lol. But I'm looking into the SOS supercharger kit and thankfully don't have to worry about passing emissions where I live so as long as I can find a good tuner that's comfortable with it, ems seems to be the way to go.
I don't have much tuning experience so as for now I'll keep my wallet fat for the tuner but I would like to get into the game and learn as much as possible so I can do this stuff myself in the future. Most of you guys seem pretty knowledgeable so where do you suggest I start when getting into this? It obviously isn't something that you just know overnight so any links or guides that can get me started are much appreciated.
Thanks!

When I buy one it will be AEM I have ap1 and I just want to plug it in and start tuning. Then living in CA the smog test is an issue. Car smog stations can fail you with visual inspection. So I plan on just unplugging the unit and run oem ems prior to smog. Smog is a big deal and I just want to get the smog cert and be on my way no drama.

I love my kpro. U get to pass emission with 400+whp daily driven car. Boost by gears, 2step launch control, and all obd2 and check engine light works. Only down fall was it cost me am arm n a leg for the kpro. If your car is not for street go aem. Its a lot cheaper n u don't have to with the trouble of installing all the oem sensors n valve cover

IMO, AEM has just become the clear winner in this race. Hondata is an aging system that the mfgr refuses to update or listen to any consumer demands, the fact that Hondata has lowered prices is a clear indicator. Was a no brainer for me to go AEM, AEM is a great company and they are constantly striving to meet consumer needs and be on the cutting edge of technology.

I need help AEM EMS Guru's. I've lost my speedometer (driving at 0mph) and power steering and cannot use my 2-step. We swapped out the EMS and plugged back in the stock ECU and speedometer and power steering work. VSS setting in EMS is set to T3.

What else could it be?

Please HELP!!!

I beg to differ or rather be more specific. Hondata isn't abandoning anything with Flashpro being the new unit(kpro is still being supported V3kManager update came out this year), as AEM as the new infinity(idk what's going on with V2 for the future). It boils down to if you have emissions to worry about and what your tuner feels comfortable working with

Yep I'm using a 44mm waste gate on my supercharged setup but I have flashpro. I'm using a 12psi spring as I'm running 20psi.

The main reason I like aem is for the flex flex compatibility. It's really is like a dream come true to be able to run 91 octane and switch to e85 and run any amount of ethonal mix with out change tuning maps and without emptying the fuel tank of pump gas or e85. The aem ems will adjust boost pressure timing all automatically by how much ethonal you have in your tank.

I would love to pass emissions but I don't see how hondata would help. So when if the obd2 port and system still works. There's no way in hell I'll pass just by visuals as soon as I pop my hood. It was more efficient just to do an illegal smog like the rest of the good car enthusiast out here in California.
