AP1 ECU Tuning Options What do you run
Likely because you have to send them your ECU in exhange and it still costs what a Greddy unit from Karcepts with their tune costs. To me having the Greddy piggyback was cheap, easy and works well. And switching back does not require buying a new ECU. Plus, if for some reason you want to change the tune with the Greddy, there are plenty of shops that can tune with them. Not sure I know anyone that will bench tune the stock ECU.
I made a Video about the Karcepts Gredy E manage Ultimate for the Honda AP1

I really like the sound of "J's Racing N1 ECU" on my build list
Realistically though for my needs (NA modded to supercharged) a full stand alone like the AEM V2 stands out. The Kpro is great too but more costly and requires hardware changes I don't feel like making to my OG '00 20th anniversary poster child AP1.

Some standalone even have Long Trim Ignition Retard tables that’ll tell you where your knock counts are commonly registered. You can then auto pull timing in all of those cells or decide to just go for another fine-tune.
Plus Kpro ignition and knock retard strategy is passive vs active. It reacts over time and migrates over to a low octane map unlike stand-alone ECU’s which are almost instantly proactive and pulling ignition timing the second it hears knock then slowly (say 200ms) reintroduces ignition advance.

If the AEM V2 is instant like you described then I like it more already.
If you need OBD2 function (like me) then Kpro or Doctronics is the way to go, but they are compromised compared to an Infinity/Haltech.
Buy an Infinity over the V2. Maybe I am missing something but I don't understand why it even exists when the Infinity is an option. People have said their tuners are scared of the Infinity but I have also seen a competent tuner knock out a fantastic ITB tune in 2 hours on an S2000. With everything I know you'd have to be crazy to pick the V2 over an Infinity or a Haltech.

I'd like AP1 Chief to tune my car so if he's more comfortable with the V2 over the Infinity then that's a major selling point for me.
