Default Check Engine code Mfg Control P1457 $0010N

My check engine light came on on my 2003 AP-1 with the following code: Manufacturer Control P1457 $0010N

Anyone know what would cause this? Any suggestions as to what I should do about it?

The ECU pulls a vacuum on the gas tank and monitors if the vacuum can be held; if it doesn't, P1457 is registered.

Thank you for the reply. Is it possible that my gas cap needs to be replaced after twenty years?

Sure, a gas cap that doesn't seal well enough will cause this code to register.

Thank you. That would be an easy fix.
