Giles E-Manage Ultimate
I bought a Greddy E-Manage Ultimate (EMU) that was supposedly tuned by Giles. I am planning on installing it this weekend -- how do I know that the tune is on there? Is there a way to test this out and make sure everything is right before I hook it up, or at least before I apply the tune?
Nobody in my area is really a Greddy EMU expert, so there isn't a lot of local, professional help I can get here.

When I got mine, it had a sticker on it with its settings, and came with a manual from Giles' shop so it looked legit. I just plugged up the EMU to the stock ECU and turned the car on, everything worked fine and I noticed a bit of a difference. Power didnt drop off after 8k (ap1 here) throttle response and rev match downshifting was easier, a little better mpgs as well if i remember correctly.
You could probably hook it up to a laptop but you would need the software and the proper cable to hook it up. If it's on there, there should be a password protected map that you can delete, but not modify without the password. I dont have it anymore so I cant really tell you much more. Too bad he didnt lower vtec at all in those maps, because then it would be very easy to tell whether the map was on there or not lol

Ok, I have no sticker on the E-Manage and no manual with it. I guess I will have to install the Greddy software on a laptop, plug it in, and see if there is a map on the E-Manage. Is there a special cable you need to connect to the laptop, or just any USB cable?
Haven't hooked mine up in a while, but I think it requires a type A and type B ended usb cable (similar to some usb printer cables).

I honestly still haven't looked at it yet, I've been too busy. My understanding is that it is a tune across the board, not just for WOT. I have no idea how Giles tunes it, and he locks his tunes, so you can't play around with it.

I have a giles tuned, emu. I had it tuned by him last year. I will see if there is a sticker on it.
When I gave him the car, I'm pretty sure he said he had to open it and rework some stuff in the EMU itself. Also he mentioned that he does some work to the PnP harness.

This is the dyno he emailed me with on my greddy kit. I feel like there's something wrong with my tune though as the tq numbers are strangely higher than most other Greddy turbos. Also the fact that it just drops after 6k.
