Default Greddy Emanage Ultimate, communication questions

Just got a second hand unit and installed it with a boomslang pnp harness, also latest software and drivers installed on my laptop.
Now I would like to connect to the unit and download the tune that is suppose to be there.
But when I turn ignition on it's still seems to be in offline mode, no led activity on the greddy unit either.
Does the car need to be started also?
Intake manifold is currently not installed so can't check myself

You need ignition on, no the car doesnt have to be started/running.

Sounds like its getting no power, there should be led lit on it.

Ok thanks, I will check all the wiring and fuses.
The computer seems to recognice the EMU when I connect the USB though, I get the option to do a "Main Unit Update".
I'm scurred to do that though beacause I'm not sure if I will loose the tune installed.

I have no voltage on the ecu pin with ignition on, not sure why.
Did connect the EMU to my bench power supply and it starts and communicates fine, no problem importing the tune either.
Will deal with the voltage problem later when manifold is back on and all the sensors connected.

I'd get the tune and update with the 2.23 F/W - or whatever the last one was, think it was 2.23

Computer software is 2.30 but I think the unit had 2.23 and it did ask me to update firmware, I will probably do that later.

I don't think you can, it's Windows 7 or preferably Windows XP.
