Haltech vs Kpro?

Default Haltech vs Kpro?

Which one is better and why? I saw that Evans now has a set up using the haltech sport 1000. From my understanding it works in conjunction with the stock ecu which would help on the start up map problem the aem has. Is the sport 1000 as good as Kpro? This would be a awesome solution to not having to change all the sensor and such.

it depends on what your tuner is most comfortable with, i think evans was working on a harness for the haltech to be OBDII, but AFAIK, it's not completed yet

ok, then there goes that argument for kpro, and it comes down to what your tuner prefers/is most comfortable with, obviously it'd save the installer some hassle, as you noted

I'm also looking at Haltech vs. Kpro.

Can The Sport 1000 be tuned for altitude adjustment?

I live in UT, so I can go from 4,000 ft. to 10,000 ft. in about twenty minutes. It was mentioned that the KPro can be tuned to adjust via the ECU's altimeter. If the Haltech unit can do this, then I will definetly be going with it. That way my car can be easily returned to stock if I sell it.

Whether you are at sea level, or 10K feet, the ECU will adjust fuel based on the MAP signal. According to Hondata, fuel trims are never applied during open loop on Hondas.

Haltech is much more capable than kpro. I wouldn't even think twice about going to that instead.
