Considering most people don't have a clue about the expense or the code-base I find these "opinions" comical. I'm not saying it wouldn't be nice, but I'm sure they have plenty of factors to weigh in on, like how many people still purchase hondata stuff, whether most people really desire a fancy new UI, and/or what their market is (upping the cost can push into AEM or other EMS territory).

I'd love hondata to have a fancy new UI and a ton of new features, but understand the target audience is likely more limited compared to say AEM (and thus so is the $). Nothing wrong with asking them, but unless you have a snapshot of their inner workings, it's all just pure speculation.

It was really tough for me(a MAC user) to save $199 for a small windows friendly laptop... which will cost a lot less than re-writing hondata

I do have a clue about the expense. And I still say it would be worth it.

I agree that it's a bit speculative, but using FlashPro manager is also pretty brutal.

It is easier to install Windows on a Mac than it is most PC's. That isn't the issue in question. By the time the thousands and thousands of users have done this, no it likely isn't cheaper.

So if there are other options to get what you ask, when Hondata basically said NO to your request, why try complaining? regardless of what you want fact is windows is still dominant, and preferred by hondata. Don't like it, don't buy their product I guess....

Calm down.

It's just a suggestion. As I stated I don't really care if it runs on OS X or not, the Windows app could use an overhaul as well.

I'm cool as usual, I don't get why you want Hondata to begin a mental suicide with reworking/recoding something that isn't faulted lol please don't take my text-tone as hostile.

Hondata has a pretty simple interface, but it also has limited functionality and targets a different market from the typical standalone EMS. I can't see a re-write being worth anyone's time. If you want pretty new interfaces that are highly configurable, AEM, Haltech, and others have you covered. Their interfaces have to be better because their EMS systems are far more complex.

Officemax has a Stream 7 full Windows tablet that should work with the Hondata for $80 if anyone is desperate. The interface won't be great due to the small screen, but it'll work. You'll need an adapter for the micro-usb slot.
