Default oil life%?

think this is probably a simple question but anyone know what this lamp sign indicates?

i recently purchased my 06 from a CarMax. had the battery and brake fluid replaced then this came on. what's the A and the 1 for? don't think it's the engine oil, that's pretty clean.

thanks.

if you have clean engine oil, just go ahead reset the oil%, the mechanic probably didnt do that after the oil change

oic, that makes sense. so it's just a engine oil monitor? how many miles are oil changes recommended at? 3k?

Factory recommended changes are way above 3k. I think under normal use, it's about 7500 miles. The oil minder system goes off of ECU inputs, it's not just mileage. It will calculate throttle inputs, load, revs, etc. Pretty much, the harder you drive the car, the quicker the % will drop. On my 06 I always changed the oil when it got to about 20%. Which varied over it's life. Sometimes I got to 20% in about 4k miles, sometimes it would take 6k miles. All depends on how you drive.
