Stand Alone ECU what is best? :?:
I have been debating doing a different motor swap or just turbocharging the S. After some thinking for about a month I decided that the best thing to do is turbo it.
I would like to get a full complete standalone system for the car. No SAFC, or chip sets to " trick " any sensors like others people do.
I would like to go with AEM. It looks to be after a bit of research it looks like I would like to use this standalone. Now I have seen them range so far from $1300.00-$1800.00.
My goals:
I would like a reliable 400WHP
Engine will be rebuilt with eagle rods, CP pistons, ACL bearing set. Block guard, etc..
What are the advantages to the AEM computers and which will best suit me. I want to go all out, but before I do I am goign tof idn the best user friendly standalone for the S2000.
Thanks.

In terms of ease of use, installation of the aem could be considered easier and cheaper b/c of the cost of the ECM and the fact you just plug it in.
I can say that the software on the kpro is a lot easier to use, I am very familiar with KPRO and when I look at the AEMpro software it is very confusing. You can obviously tune every single aspect of the AEM where KPRO has the stock logic in the background making the number of tables you have access to or can manipulate less.
So basically if you are going to build a race car, I would say go AEM, if you just want a car you are going to mod but will always be a street car with a simple bolt on system, I would say KPRO would probably be easiest for you to maintain.
This is not to start any kind of debate, just my own opinion for what it's worth.
