See I figure if it was the wiring it would throw a code no matter what it was set to, whether 6100 or 5000. But it doesnt it functions normal at 6100 setting, only when set to engage below that. That's why I am really perplexed here.

Did you hack into your wiring harness or did you get the pnp harness?

Well one of the previous owners already hacked into it so I did too. Soldered all my connections and made sure there were none loose.

I just powered mine on for the first time and threw a CEL right away. I went in and looked, and the default Vtec setting was like 3000, maybe even 2500?! I moved mine up to 6000, cleared the CEL, fired it back up, and the CEL was gone. So mine had something to do with Vtec as well. I don't think it would have tried to engage upon start up?? The throttle % was defaulted really low though, like 10% low 50% high, I changed that as well.

I will get it squared away tomorrow, just so I can drive to get my tune Saturday, let the experts deal with this thing!

Never wire in one of these devices. Its not worth the headache when something goes wrong. Trouble shooting is usually a nightmare. Never mind the fact that your oem harness has now been compromised. If you have ever replaced one of these, you would never cut into it again.

But what about all the fun of trying to wire in the smallest space possible? That was just too much fun lol. Idk why my car doesnt like vtech being below 6100.
