Default VTEC Issue with Greddy EMU AND Karcepts Tune

Hi all. I need some help with my Greddy EMU with Kacepts tune. I brought the package used with Boomslang harness. Beside from an idling problem that is fixable, it ran fine. Felt smooth and strong and have no problem reving it out.

The main issue that I have is I get the P1259 (VTEC) code under track use. I’ve experience this twice now under almost identical situation. Both happened during my out lap after a few corners. So I was in VTEC, but wasn’t pushing hard. The CEL appeared and of course I can’t get back into VTEC anymore. I then came back into the pit, remove the EMU, cleared the code and everything is fine and I can finish my track day. I think the reason why I don’t see this on the street is I’m not in VTEC for prolong period of time (>~20 sec).

I communicated with Karcepts via email and they basically told me that they haven’t seen it and likely not the tune. They added that it could be the harness (not updated to their recommended spec) or a defective EMU. I have done a lot of researching and concluded that my harness is wired to what Karcepts recommends.

Has anymore experience similar issue with Karcepts tune or generally with the EMU? Any help is appropriated. TIA!

I've the same setup for almost 2 years and never once had a CEL.

The only issue I experienced was the engine stalling sometimes when returning to idle during colder temperatures.

Running this setup in my AP2 for several years and never experienced any issues. I'm about to get rid of it for the Link kit but it really was a good setup for a while.
