103k on the clock stock trans
I think it's the gears that are weak. I'm sure if that wasn't the weak point, then you might run into the shafts wanting to separate. However, I never had any issues with the PPG gears in the stock case, so I don't think that's an issue, at least not up to 730+whp
. The stock gears in these trans are much smaller than the FWD B and H series 5 speed stuff.
The old FWD honda 5 speed stuff, B and H series were actually quite strong. I only broke one trans in those days and that was totally from a **** up on my part and done by shock.

Yeah the internals of the s2k trans is just pussy looking. Its no wonder that they constantly break. Im still going to say that the trans is weaker than the diff in the s2000. I put a lot of power and pulled good 60 foots with a stock rear end. That trans is garbage though. I personally wouldnt waste the money on treating the gears, either turn the power down until a cheap solution comes out, suck it up and pay for the expensive trans or do what I did and get a different car. I may come back to the s2000 at some point but right now its just not worth it to throw all that money at it.

^^What kind of power are you making and do you no-lift when you shift and bang the gears hard? I shift smooth and very quick and dont no-lift and am at 650 whp/442 wtq and havent broken any trannies yet.

a bit over 400whp on DR, i usually do dig runs or 2nd gear pull, which in till today i will never do again cause im on a new tranny which i cant afford to **** up!!
Yeah, I thought about taking the car to the track once, then I went 11.0 (of course I needed a 10 at that point), and it took like 30 some passes (and a lot of breaking) to get a 10....haha. Then at that point, I had all the hardware to go faster, so I kept going back.

I was thinking you must spent your entire weekend at the track haha. I go maybe once or twice a month but I'm out on the prowl Friday and Saturday nights mostly I spin a lot so not to much shock on the trans.
