6262 jb pushing oil on comp side?
Greetings,
Well I didn't want to have to make a thread, but I am now out of options. So when I first installed this turbo I did not run a restrictor, but I did run a -3 feed line. The return line is a #12. The car would smoke just normal driving and I found oil getting pushed out behind the turbine wheel. I sent the turbo back to Precision and they couldn't find nothing wrong with it. They said the only thing they thought could help was installing a "gapless ring", whatever that means. I received the turbo, installed it with a .065 restrictor and the car did not smoke when driving. I drove the car 35 miles to my buddies shop to install the clutch and while on the lift we noticed good amounts of oil getting pushed out on the compressor side.
At this point I dont know what to do. This isn't my first turbo car(first s2k turbo car tho) and running out of ideas. Only thing I can think now is where my drain is? here are some pictures of my drain. I added a #12 bung right above the drain screw. Will returning the oil to the girdle fix my issues?

Could be the culprit! your engine is leaning that way already and with that 90 degree fitting right there its just letting the oil catch up to itself. Better place to put it on the pan would be in the front side of the motor. I can get you a picture of where mine is if you would like. One thing, you went plenty big with the size of the return haha j/k. It all depends on who you ask on the pan/girdle oil tap battle.
More importantly is, putting the drain anywhere in the oil pan has the potential for backing up no matter where you put it because of the windage caused by the crank. The absolute best place to put the drain is in the girdle (in line with the crank and out of any crank windage) and I sent you a pm back with a picture of where mine is. I've had mine this way with a -8 return line at all times and after 8 years and 12k miles of turbo, not one turbo failure with all 3 JB turbo's I have used.
