6266 dilema, twinscroll vs .82
Last year I had some sort of oil failure, managed to spin all 5 mains, and bend a couple exhaust valve while I was at it on my old setup. My pfab twinscroll man (like 10 years old) cracked for a 3rd time, and I've decided to start fresh.
I built a 2.4L inline pro block in 10 to 1, and refreshed my head with new exhaust valves.
Currently planning a custom turbo mani and here's my dilema. I want a snappier response, but don't have the funds for a 7076 in the budget for this year so Im going to stick with the 6266. I'm not shooting for 600+ anymore and currently want to stay in the 450-500 range with quicker response. Obviously the 2.4 is going to spool a bit quicker than the old 2.0 but who knows if it'll be what I'm looking for. Do I go with a new turbo hotside for the 6266 gen2 (currently a 1.15 twinscroll)? My options would be to stay twinscroll at 1.00 or get a vband single flange in .82.
What do you guys think? Will that effect my top RPM that much for my 500WHP goals?
Anyone running a .82 6266?
