i see wat your saying, ok lets conclude that the stockbolts can do about 765ish whp before failure, now lets see where the rest of the internals start to go!

That was on a dynapak I believe. I dont even want to bring the whole dyno debate up I think it will last, but I have a race Im trying to go to and really dont want to pop a gasket on the track. At these boost levels and power I think the stock bolts were on its way out.
I can certainly appreciate that.

W/the way the cars are setup, thats alot of gear to pull for a "simple h/g swap".

Besides thats a small part, and you could swap headstuds w/o pulling the head if you were so inclinded for future modders.

Thats what I was about to say. If Rob! would have dyno'ed on a dynojet, which are much more accurate, he may have only been around 700 whp or so. Dynapaks are just not as accurate and can be manipulated to show bloated numbers. Not saying that the dyno runner is doing this, its just a fact that those dyno's arent as accurate. Why do you think the dyno runners always say "its calibrated to a Dynojet"?

Anyway, just wanted to make a point.

Dyno's are tuning tools, nothing more.

And I wouldn't take anything away from what Rob did just because he was on a dynapack. They are both impressive in my eyes.

Why are we dissing dynapacks?

What are the SAE numbers for the 765hp STD run?

Awesome LJ!

Get a fresh HG and ARP headstuds on there and keep going. Have you thought about going ahead with the IP 3mm HG since you are having to change it anyway?
From my experience, ethanol really loves high compression. Ive built a bunch of high boosted b-series motors that linger around the 10.8- 11:0 compression ratio. On pump gas, it would be a good thing to get a thicker head gasket if you are pushing the motor. The smartest thing to do is just to convert over to e85 (if available) and push the stock motor. Ethanol itself is very knock resistant.

sorry buddy, I forgot to reply earlier. Was busy at work, the SAE numbers was 749hp

I wasnt dissing dynapak, I just wanted to be clear that the numbers arent the same. Who knows, maybe the pak reads lower Trust me, I tune cars for a living. I know numbers are just numbers.
