AEM 1052U & Wideband AF Gauge?
Question for the experts..
I got an AEM EMS w/ UEGO.. it comes with a wide band sensor. That sensor replaces one the O2 sensors in the test pipe.
Do I need to use a wide band AF Gauge (AEM, Prosport) as well? so I would be running 2 wide band sensors total..
thanks

Serial with EMS U-box
I looked on AEM's website, but it doesnt really tell much. Right now i have the UEGO piped into my EMS. What benefit would i get from going serial gauge?

Does it still utilize the wideband function of the UEGO? Or is it just a data gauge?

If you do not have U-box EMS, you would need to have the separate UEGO controller type gauge.
The benefit of having a built in UEGO, is that it is already integrated into your EMS without any externall wiring or having to mount a controller somewhere. Plus the added benefit of viewing your A/F in real time via a laptop or AEM Serial datastream and option to datalog etc.

You can only read wideband #'s off a datastream gauge if you have an EMS with a built in UEGO controller.

I have the non-U EMS installed. I also have the UEGO wideband gauge installed and wired to the EMS. So i added it after the fact.
Now what benefit or drawback would it be to go to the serial gauge vs. my UEGO gauge?
The Serial Gauge can tell you the AFR, EGT, Knock, Coolant temp, engine speed etc etc.. that what Im going to go with.
Then all I need is a boost gauge & oil pressure and Im set.
