Default AEM EMS question

I have a question for those of you that know lots about the aem ems. Is there any way to just download the stock settings that are on your stock ecu? This way, before you get it tuned it will atleast work like your stock ecu? If not something to download, atleast a place on the internet you can look at so you can just put in your own stock settings. This way, while it is not tuned by an expert yet, you still know you are running safe settings because it would be exactly like your stock ecu.

Unfortunately, the answer to your questio is NO. The best starting point is the base MAP from AEM.

So no one knows what the stock settings are?

Your basic assumption that the 'settings' in the OEM ecu are in the same format or functionality as the AEM is erroneous. So the best you can do is tune an AEM to attain similar A/F and timing under a range of conditions. That is what the AEM basemap for the S2000 is.

So the answer is no and it has already been done.

yup. like they said, you just have to go with the basemapm till you can get it to somewhere to fully tune it.

I know that the aem and oem ecu formats are totally different. Just wondering if there is somewhere I can go and insert settings that will make me as close to stock as possible. Because the way I look at it is, while every car is different and should be tuned different.... every 05 oem ecu is the same. every 01 ecu is the same. That leads me to believe there must be someone who knows the settings for the aem ems to get it as close to stock as possible. If so, where would I attain this information?

So the basemap is very much close to stock settings? Or is it just something to get you by until tuning?

Yes, and yes.

You've got me confused. Assuming you don't have any major mods, why would you want to install the AEM? If it's just to get to the tuner why not use the OEM ECU? If you've got some mods then neither the OEM nor the AEM with basemap will be ideal.
