[QUOTE=dsddcd,Jul 20 2009, 08:18 PM] I have read quite a bit but what is the issue?

I know it has a built in map clamp, so why were you running the clamp provided by others?

It seems to be better supported than the Emanage and could not believe it would a harder to tune.

Interesting results! Did you alter VTEC engagement? Also, do you have the hiccup in the 4-5k rpm range? For me it goes very rich, my wideband reads a 10.0-1 when it does this...

How much boost are you using? You might wana talk to Mike @ Autowave for further tuning because he did mine with a Stock CTSC setup and made right aroudn 315 rwhp I believe. Stock injectors and ESM are still in place with the FPR.

Sounds to me like you have this down to a science almost, but my prob is it goes too rich for my taste, 10.8 ish under boost.... but this isnt too rich is it? I need to study up more on tuning and the goals so I can be educated enough to comment.
Thanks for the tip. I will lookup Mike at AutoWave and discuss with him.

I did not alter VTEC crossover at all. AND, I don't have a goofy hiccup between 4k-5k rpm. I don't know how I got so lucky with that. haha

I am using the SoS 4.0" pulley which should be good for 7 psi on my AP2. The funny thing was not once did I look at my boost gauge to see what I was reaching during these pulls. I was too focused on the computer screen with my a/f ratio.

Under partial throttle the richest I have seen it dip to is 11.3:1. As for yours going 10.8:1 under boost, I wouldn't say that is TOO rich. Depending on the weather conditions when it was tuned, that would easily lean out to 11.5:1 on a much cooler evening. When you tune these you should have a little buffer for weather changes beyond what they are on the day of tuning.

Ahh and I bet you have the latest firmware updates in your unit? Mines still pretty old as mine was one of the first units to go out. Im sure after an update and a retune I should be looking better... atleast I hope. My main conflict is that while in FLA, there are no good shops that I have heard, except Mase. Im sure Mase could smooth it out, but dyno time out here is double to triple what it costs out in socal, and no where as good as goin to Church or Autowave, with the exception of Mase.

Im also on an AP1, so dont we use slightly different boxes? Im not totally sure where to go with this, if it all fails after a trip to a good tuner, its Kpro time.

I do have the latest firmware, but, if my memory serves me correctly all 2000-2005 S2000's use the same unit. I may not be correct but that's what I recall reading for some reason.

If you were near me in Western Pennsylvania I would gladly lend you a hand. I am not yet an expert at this but I have come a long way since installing this unit.

Its good to see some people still tryin to make this unit work... makes me wonder why AEM doesnt give a shit, they are the ones who sell it after all. This is the whole reason I dont want their standalone after all... great product support there AEM.

Mines gonne be sitting idle for awhile because my cars in a garage and I wont be able to get to it for sometime >< Hopefully after you talk to Mike @ Autowave, we can have even more progress into this unit.

Well im tuned in and will help any way I can, mines gonna go to Mase for the final attempt when I do make it back into town, hes the only guy in FLA id trust with my car, he does have a solid reputation as the best tuner in the East ^^. And my other options are shady shops who get combative when they screw up scheduling lol

I took the S out for some spirited driving tonight. I have some spots at partial throttle that are leaner than I would like them to be. I shall try to richen those up tomorrow.

Is that Autowave located in Huntington Beach, CA?

thanks! I am going to get in touch with him very soon.

I developed a random miss at idle yesterday. I think I fouled a plug or two. Going to put new ones in tonight. I should have done that right after the tune.

My opinion is the fic is a nice unit but like the emanage the tuner needs to know what he is doing. When I was tuning mine I got it to drive like stock with 550cc injectors out of boost. The issues I had were going wot one day it was dead on perfect a/f the next it was to rich. I am sure with some more patience and tuning I could have got a nice happy medium but I decided instead I wanted to go with ems. So far my ems tuning is going well but I still think the fic is a good way to go if you dont want to go standalone.
