So im assuming that with this box being new, it will be in the price range of the Kpro, minus the extra parts?

That's why he and I want it. Our state has emissions tests, and the only thing you need to pass is a clear OBDII read.
That just don't know how much it sucks being in mini California (North Carolina). That OBD2 crap really sucks, and I just don't see why it would be so difficult for AEM to incorporate that so that the other 10% of us could use their product. But, not much I can do about it. Just keep trying to find decent emanage ultimate tuners.....

ODBII is important to you, but totally irrelevant to 90% of the world.

It is 'feedback for dummies' and unless it is part of some government mandated emissions criteria it is totally useless to tuners that know what they are doing.

Personally I'd love to see an add-on that would take the telemetry from the AEM and produce OBDII codes. But I wouldn't buy it.
i fall into that 10% category as well, as i live in ca. and i wouldn't say it's as small as 10%--CA is probably your largest market for these types of parts, in the world, outside of Japan. the other posters live on the East coast, another large market. so, well, i wouldn't understand why AEM doesn't care about that "10%," cause it's probably closer to 1/2. anyway, just my argument.

No OBD 2? Maybe because they are lazy and cheap, dont wanna do the work necessary to provide this to us. Im sure domestics are still OBD1 right? To show what I think of their lack of OBD2 support, I gave my EMS money to Hondata, so suck that AEM. Go to hell with your mustangs and chevys!

think an aftermarket supercharger or turbo system has to go through serious rigors to get a CARB compliance in california?

Now think of the brains (computer) controlling all emission/fueling functions trying to get that CARB certification. I know OBD is not CARB, but if you cant get past a CARB review board, you wont get OBD compliance from the feds. It would be even more difficult to get federal certifiction of a OBD compliant device than CARB.

Imagine what the OEMs have to go through to produce your stock ecu.

willing to pay for it if aem put it in?

i guess they're AIM'ed to the track tuners...
vehicles for track and off road only, so maybe not for us...

for people who need the OBD-II ,spend few hundreds more and get the K-pros..
i think they are pretty good for s2000's aswell....
