AEM Series 2 ems!
ha...an inspection station at the track. Right, like running into Mickey D's on the corner of the carousel.
Anyway, my understanding is that the OBD II scanner will display the vehicle tested as an Acura RSX. Is this true? Has that made a difference to anyone who went to inspection?
As long as there's no visual inspection, getting through emissions shouldn't be THAT bad for most. You have to plug in your old injectors and the cat and replace the stock ecu and undo a coupler to make sure your boost is blown off (possibly replace the stock MAP sensor).
It's a bit time consuming I suppose...maybe I should consider the Hondata at some point. We'll see.
Anyway, I like my AEM EMS but there's no question that there are quirks and glitches to the software. I have had a problem with logging and you have to know little things like how to confirm a configuration properly despite the fact that what might be displayed may not actually be the actual configured sensor.
Even with all that, I find it to be feature rich and easy to learn once you break into it. I am anxious to see how the 2nd revision fares over the next few months. I'm sure they dropped a few features in there to entice us 1052 users to upgrade.

Im very curious to see how the pricing scheme will go, and if the 1052 units will have any price drop. My prediction is that the newer units will be priced significantly more while the old units get little or no price drop.

The car should "pass" even if the ecu says its an rsx.. the problem will come when the inspection station gets caught, they will get a big fine .. at least thats how it works here in NC

..or you can just move to Florida and not worry about it at all.
I just ordered the 1052u before I saw this. The one nice upgrade I would like is the use of the dash temp gauge.

why? is it illegal to use another car's ECU?
I know several people who have gotten big fines b/c of the car having the wrong ecu.
