Are all you guys having coil issues using the AEM EMS? The only coil trouble I've ever seen with stock coils has been with the AEM. They are known for burning up coils even when the dwell is correctly set. I've seen it multiple times in person.

FYI the CBR coils far out perform the AEM pencil coils on the bench and the Dyno. The AEM ones are just a bad knock off. The only unfortunate problem with the CBR coils is they require plugs with a removable top which limits your choice. I don't have any experience with the AEM smart coils.

No, I'm not having any coil issues. Never burned up one stock coil with a AEM, V1 or V2. There just comes a time where a "stock coil" isn't going to cut it.

Not sure what you are referring too as far as the CBR coils far out performing the AEM pencil coils on the bench and dyno?? My dyno numbers and track times tell a far different story.

You should give the AEM smart coils a shot, the best ignition I've used to date. And the best priced as well.

If it were my car, I would run the AEM smart coils. Will that MW/CBR coil setup work, of course, but I typically looks at cost vs. performance.

We are pushing close to 1300hp now with our car. AEM smart coils. Wouldn't even consider trying something else even if it were given to me.

If you go the smart coil route, get a hold of Firecore to make you a set of custom wires. They know what type of wire and ends to use. They are inexpensive and one of the better plug wires on the market.

I'm up to about the same power with the cbr coils, don't mean to get in a pissing match with Bales. Just stating it works well. Tony at t1 uses them on his integra, I had used them on my b series pushing about 1040. And now on this s2k engine

There's no pissing match.

I am just stating what has worked for us, much like you are. I haven't said anything negative about other manufacturers products nor have you. Most intelligent consumers can see the performance vs. dollar factor. And in all actuality performance to performance, the dollar factor is just an added bonus.
