Default air filter replacement

hey guys, recently bought a used 04 with ctsc and im trying to do all its maintainence stuff. i just checked the air filter and its the most filthy looking thing ive ever seen. can i just replace it with a k&n air filter? do i need a certain model number for the comptech sc air box?

i understand its clean/reusable but i think this one is pretty much gone.

thanks in advance

K&N = death to all motors.

useless filter system.

You should run a foam filter etc.
IDK what comptech/vortech etc. systems use cause I'm turbo but

K&N= BAD NEWS!!!!!

I've done my own testing there.

my truck i got k&n...i put a dab of marine lube (blue stuff) down the intake tract....drove around 50 miles.... and the grease was black covered with dust!!!!!!

Not to mention I've been warned for years by moto/truck/car people about how much dirty/dust they let through to your motor.

I redid the test with a foam filter (dirtbike style) the marine lube was blue and clean at 150miles later.

I'll never use K&N again. K&N belongs in kragen stores.
