Default Another ? on heat issues

Will i not have to worry too much about the heat issues since my turbo is below the manifold?

Unilke these setups where the turbo is on top of the manifold?

Just wondering because I DEFINATLY DO NOT want to be part of that "my car caught on fire" club.

No one can say for sure. As for melting, say the battery, I doubt you would have to worry about it.

However, if an oil line slips off and sprays hot oil all over the downpipe, you would have a serious problem no matter where your turbo sat.

A vented hood is almost a must for any turbo application. Even the stock hood with vents will help disipate heat. And definetly make room for a fire extiguisher in the passenger seat.

Keep your heatshield or have someone fab one to keep heat off the battery and underhood fuse box area.

I've run both setups. Underhood temperatures still get hot with the log manifold, but you don't have hot metal nearly as close to anything that can burn/melt.
