Anyone running a drain back catch can?

I finished my catch can drain back setup replaced my radiator hoses and crank dampener while i was at it.

Sounds like a great idea until you actually look in the catch can and see the nasty oil residue, not to mention on e85 it's even worse.
I'll prefer to drain it manually.
For a regular, mostly stock car, it's probably a great idea.

Well if you mount you catch can lines in front of the valve cover the catch can will over fill a lot faster than you think, so that's why I drained it back. The catch can only gets nasty because the fuel vapor and moisture in the little bit of oil In the can never gets hot enough to burn off that stuff. What do you think happens to all blow by vapors going past the rings some goes in the oil and some goes in the catch can the only diffence is the temp of the oil in the pan vs the catch can.

Too each their own.
If you are filling your catch can up fast enough that's it's inconvenient to just empty it, you should probably look it to what's causing that. There are lots of things that can attribute to that.
I can make 30 1/4 mile passes at 1200hp+ on methanol and not fill my can up.
