AP1 Comptech SC on 04 AP2
Will the FPR make that much of a difference though? I do believe mine is an ap1...or was at least adjusted to 7 psi for an ap1.
When I bought it for my ap2, I had to make no adjustment whatsoever. 11's before vtec, 13s engagement, and 12-12.5 after all the way to redline.
I just purchased a Vafc to mess with vtec though.
What should the target AFR be?

Those are pretty good afrs, except use the vafc to get your pre vtec rpms in the upper 12's and you will be golden. If you want to get nit picky, add a little more fuel if you can to get your vtec changer over lower, down to upper 12's and dial in the vafc for fine tuning everywhere else.
I think 12-12.5 across the whole power range like you said your self. Honestly just get on a dyno and pay for self tune like $100 hour or so. You can tune and will know where you make most power.
Now you mentioned your buddy had the same issue. Was his AFRs as high as mine up top such as 13.1, 13.8, 14.7 before he put his cat back on?

Ahh, I see. Right now, I have one thread left before flush on the lock nut.
What should I set vtec at? Will lowering smooth out the powerband like I've seen?
12s seem crazy to me, even though I'm sure your right. When I had my wideband installed with no Sc, I was seeing mid to high 10's and low 11's with wot.
I guess it just runs rich fr te factory.

^yea, my friend was lean just like you. When he put his can in, it solved it. I actually picked up the pulley im using now from him.
Also I backed off FPR screw 3 turns. Magic 13.1 afr up top appeared again.
So I get on the freeway and do a 3rd gear pull... 12.4 all the way WOOHOO! Shift in to 4th BAM sloppy feel with 14.7 just like in the video up to 7k. I let go. Fu Fu Fu fu

As mentioned, that's a sign that you went too far on the fpr. There is a max sweet spot, when your running it this far, you just have to experiment to find where that is. As you get closer to the max, smaller turns make a bigger difference I have found. You just have to make an adjustment, run it on the street and look at how your afr responds, pull over and make another adjustment... repeat as necessary
Gear related doesn't make much sense. Just keep playing with that fpr. Try and find a pattern, could be a second unrelated issue causing some confusion.
