AP1 Vortech kit on an AP2
So I'm in the market for another used Vortech kit, I had one before I went turbo and liked it quite a bit. Unfortunately the used marketplace seems filled with AP1 kits. I have recently put a F22C ('05) with 10k miles into my AP1 ('00) (old engine was starved of oil and I parted out my turbo setup) and I still have and use the '00 ECU in the car. What all would be required to make the kit work? I do have my shift beeper set to 8200 RPM but occasionally I do rev it a little higher. Obviously I would need the AP2 pulley. I know the '04-'05 kits use a 5th injector, would recalibrating the FMU with a 12:1 kit be sufficient? I will install a wideband so I will be able to monitor my AFR's. Also, would I use an AP1 pair of black boxes (timing box + MAP clamp), or would I have to use a '04-'05 black box with the MAP clamp integrated into it?
Eventually I will go standalone with an even smaller pulley but for now I'd like to have a stock kit.
Thanks for the insight!

Good to hear! I would imagine the EMS should be working fine, it was basically brand new when I sold it to you!
Unfortunately the aftercooler with the 5th injector only come with the '04-'05 kits.

why not just skip the guess work and ditch the FMU and black box and just go with injectors and EMS. Im seeing alot of FMU related issues where after months of guessing and trying to get there car running correctly they finally bite the bullet and say F*** the FMU
This will be my second Vortech and I had zero issues with my last FMU on my F20C, recalibration was easy and with a wideband it's easy to dial in. Perhaps I'll look into the Comptech one. I'd like to drive the car on a stock Vortech kit while I collect the necessary things to go to a smaller pulley (injectors, EMS, clutch, etc.) as I don't have expendable funds for everything right now.
