Default Back from the TRACK (1/4) ATCO (93 tune)

Hey guys, I am back from the track, and honestly I fly airplanes for a living and today was by far the biggest adrenaline rush I have ever had. It was a lot of fun. So being this was my first time at the track It was kind of intimidating, seeing all of these muscle cars with huge slicks etc, but everyone was friendly. The track is ATCO NJ, so more of a hillbily crowd, lol. There were a ton of Z06's, mustangs etc. Anyway at ATCO you have to go through the water box but ended up being no big deal. I just banged it off the rev limiter in 1st to get rid of the dirt/water. So I am pulling up to the tree for the first time and the car ahead of me had issues so I had to sit there for what felt like an eternity. Anyway on my first pass 2nd gear wheel hopped very badly so I let off fearing the diff would break, I got on it in 3rd, switched to high boost half way down the track and ran a terrible time of 14.1 . I was pretty embarrassed but whatever.......

2nd time around I let some more air out of my tires and though I did not wheel hop. I did spin 2nd and then banged off the limiter in 4th, but I did better

3rd time around I switched lanes and did my best of the day. I still slowly rolled it off the line, but felt 2nd gear hook and it took off nicely (still 12bs in 2nd)

If I could just get that 60ft down

Also, this datalog shows why I am a huge proponet of Water/Meth. There was essentially no knock (from what I have been told, especially with an open downpipe anythng below 1.5v is negligble)I also looked to see if there was any knock retard and it was ZERO all the way through , and take a look at the IATs (this datalog was from my last pull)

Nets time around I will throw some Q16 in there and see if I can hit 130mph

Nice man glad you had a good time, you were just starting to get the hang of it on the last run! Get that 60 ft down and you would be deep in the 11's.

Yep, that 60' is the only thing holding you back now. You should be able to cut 2.0 60fts, which will get you in the 11s for sure!

Nice job. And yes, the rush of running the 1/4th at the track is a lot of fun!

not bad for first time dude! my first 3 runs on street tires and 550hp were ranging from 12.5 - 13.0 because spinning or bogging with traps from 117-131 hahaha, track takes alot of practice, around 600hp is easily a 10flat run with these cars but its all about getting it there, tires + suspension is a damn must!!

A 1.8 60' is a good typical time for RWD on street tires. I understand the fear of blowing the rear diff though! That trap speed is good for solid 11's.

Glad you didn't break anything. A new drag addict has been born, its amazing how much fun it really is. Should be able to get the 60 under 2.0 with a little more practice. I was able to do 2.10 with 19's when I was NA. With your kind of power and some more practice 2.0 flat should be a sinch. Get some drag radials and lay down some 10's for us. You def. have enough power.

yea, I would love the Supra tranny setup, but this winter I think ill just settle for a new, beefed up diff, keep 1st and 2nd gear at lower levels and have a ton of fun next summer
