Bad Tune? Greddy recently installed.
I would still call Church just to ask. If he doesnt feel comfortable with it is different then doesnt prefer it. Just to make sure you have an understanding. Normally when someone says they dont like something its because they dont understand it. Nothing against Church at all just dont want you to repeat the issue you have again
No, the previous tuner just threw plugs after plugs in since he couldn't get the fuel right and kept fouling plugs after plugs. He went through 4 sets before getting it right. Or not right? Depending on how you look at it. Are you FI'd? Does it change NA to FI?
RedCelica, I agree with you on that but since he already screwed it up twice and took about 8 hours both times to tune it, don't really know if i should deal with it again.
Is there anything that can cause the car to stall dropping below idle RPMs? And anything else that can throw P0171 and P0170?

I ordered some NGK BKR8EIX's and I'm going to see if this fixes the problem.
If I had to guess, I would say you got that code because the tuner did not trim the injectors correctly in closed loop . This is where most tuners have a problem. The tuner needs to read the fuel trims from the OBD port. This requires driving the car around in closed loop and getting the scale and lag times correct. Once that is done he can start tuning. But he also has to watch and make sure he does not change too much in the closed loop parts of the map or the car will try to correct for it wich is your case . He does not have them correct and the car is trying to keep adding fuel in closed loop which maxes out the fuel trim cause the codes you have.
EMU is the closest thing you can get to a standalone. I would never put it in the same league as a VAFC (POS) I have lots of cars that I was told it would never work on running track days on a EMU with boost ( S2k's , G35's , Lotus Exige ... etc)
Also an EMU will pass inspection for OBDII while AEM won’t
AEM is greater in the end if you are willing to sacrifice your cars legality
From the OBDII port? I know that he did do the fuel trim using the AFR on my tail pipe, I think. He had it rolling on a dyno while doing all this. He didn't really explain to me what he was doing and I was kept away from the dyno while he was tuning for insurance purposes.
So you're saying that I won't be able to track my car or race it with a Greddy E-Manage Ultimate? I would buy the AEM if it fixes my problem but I don't really have 1200 to spend on one right now. This project has sapped my pockets and I'm trying to find the quickest solution, without destroying my engine.
Wouldn't adding fuel cause rich conditions and not lean ones? According to the codes, it is a lean fuel mixture. The car was running near perfect the entire day before this started happening.
